6. The fires that hit Clumber Park
Clumber House was first hit by a fire in 1879, which gutted 20 of the 105 rooms in the core of the house. The damaged rooms were turned into an enormous entrance hall. But, another fire in 1912, which hit the upper two floors finished the house. It was demolished in 1938. Photo: JPIMEDIA
7. Welbeck Estate's secret tunnels
Believe it or not there is a network of tunnels and rooms under The Welbeck Estate - including a library, chapel and a ballroom. 8. Worksop Priory was originally a 12th century monastery
The original Worksop Priory, an Augustinian monastery founded in the early 12th century, was dissolved on the orders of King Henry VIII in 1539 seeing many monastic buildings disappear. However, the nave of the church and the 14th century gatehouse were saved. Photo: Anne Shelley
