Pedestrian hit by car in North Anston

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was hit by a car in North Anston yesterday (Monday).

A blue Ford Focus was travelling along the B6060 Nursery Road, towards Dinnington, when it skidded and collided with a 55-year-old, man who had stepped into the road.

The accident happened around 5.55pm outside the Little Mester pub.

The pedestrian, a local man, sustained numerous fractures and a head injury and is being treated in Rotherham General Hospital.

The 20-year-old local man, who was driving the Focus, was not thought to have been hurt.
