Sometimes, do words fail you? Times when you just can’t think what to say? Could happen at any time, whether it’s offering sympathy; suffering an unexpected shock or being given a wonderful surprise. Sometimes it happens to me when I try to pray – I just can’t find the words. Then I don’t even try, I just open my heart to God, who knows and understands my every thought and feeling, and place my trust in Him. Ghandi wrote, “In prayer it is better to have a heart without words than words without a heart”. He was right. Silence can be golden. Rev Peter Hunt, St Mary’s, Oldcotes.
