Ashley Rowland, 23, of Adwick Road, Mexborough, is accused of setting fire to the Lincolnshire Police speed camera on the A631.

Rowland appeared at Lincoln Crown Court on Tuesday alongside Anthony Luty, 28, of Hollowgate, Barnborough, Doncaster, who is charged with conspiring to commit an arson attack on the speed camera which was set alight on 18th October last year.

Luty is also accused of perverting the course of justice after allegedly agreeing with Mr Rowland to destroy the camera, which had photographed him speeding on 17th October 2011.

No pleas were entered. Judge Sean Morris bailed both until 24th September.

They will face trial in November.
