Outstanding nursery staff jump for joy

Staff at a Worksop nursery are jumping for joy this week after it was rated Outstanding by Ofsted - on its first inspection.

Cherubs Ryton Park Nursery achieved an outstanding rating in all 14 areas, making it the first nursery in Notts to achieve an outstanding rating on its first visit from inspectors.

“The whole staff team have worked extremely hard and have been very dedicated in making Cherubs and excellent environment for children and their families,” said nursery manager Julie Gray.

“The staff team are highly skilled and experienced in supporting children and their development, and importantly by ensuring that all children are happy and settled within a nurturing environment.”

In the report inspector Elisabeth Wright praised the nursery saying children thrive because their welfare is at the heart of what they do.

The strong relationship with parents was also highlighted as a key strength, ensuring children’s uniqueness was valued.

She went on to say : “Children enjoy their time at the setting and are extremely well settled and confident.”

“Staff prioritise social skills and relationships and ensure that children receive cuddles and attention during their session. Therefore they feel very secure and are able to learn and make successful relationships.”

“Simple and positive nursery promises are shared with the children consistently throughout the day and these are enhanced by a reward system. Consequently, behaviour is exemplary and a calm atmosphere is maintained.”

Cherubs Ryton Park is in a purpose built area within the main Ryton Park Primary School site. It has been planned to create a safe, welcoming and creative environment.
