READER LETTER: Thank you to all who came to my aid

May I through the Guardian paper thank everyone that offered assistance during my recent bike accident near the mini roundabout in Kiveton Park on January 20.

Luckily there was a doctor on the scene who checked me over and called an ambulance. Unfortunately I cannot recall his name but I’m sure he will be from the Kiveton Park surgery, so a big thank you to him.

There were numerous people who stopped to offer assistance all of whom were strangers, so again thank you.

A big thank you to a lady called Netty who gave me her coat to keep me warm, even though she only had a t-shirt on, and also took my bike to her house for safe keeping.

Another big thank you to the Traditionals Sweet Shop owner who was marvellous. We were invited into the shop to keep warm while waiting for the paramedic and the ambulance.

We basically took up most of the shop but were made welcome with cups of tea and friendly chatter.

My face looks like I’ve done a couple of rounds with Tyson, and I have numerous bruises as well as a splint on my wrist, but it’s down to my helmet that it wasn’t a lot worse.

Anyway a pothole means no bike, no work and no driving for a while.
