Motorway slow down in wrong
I strongly object to the proposed slowdown on the M1 between J28 and 35a. Lorries are the most polluting so if you want to apply this EU directive and let’s be clear this is where it is coming from, it should be directed at lorries.
Driving a car at 60 or 70mph does not materially affect the amount of pollution. Cars are getting smarter and cleaner all the time.
I find it incredible that democracy is just walked all over, these unelected people in Brussels (who hypocritically and unnecessarily travel to Strasbourg creating a lot of pollution) just think they can impose whatever they like on us. We are not their assets, we are not numbers, we are voters, the taxpayers and therefore the government’s boss. I think the mood will be apparent all too well to the cosseted ones in their ivory towers come the elections in May…
