Go back to the drawing board

As soon as I discovered that not one parking place was available in Anston Parish Hall car park on Tuesday afternoon I knew that good old Aston folk were firmly united in opposing Rotherham Borough Council’s Local Area Development Plan.

People were even spilling out into the grounds where one R.B.C. officer was getting a real good ear bashing from local residents.

We expect a certain amount of growth within our boundaries which is a fact of life, but to hear proposals of decimation of an area of outstanding natural beauty is beyond what the majority of Anston people are prepared to accept.

I did feel sorry for the poor couple who had been informed that building proposals would be literally in their back garden.

So R.B.C. I don’t think you’re going to get away with upsetting the Anstonian folks on such a large scale. So may I suggest you go back to the drawing board and while you’re at it plans for a nice swimming pool for the area would be very much appreciated, thank you.
