Can’t beat a Day Explorer ticket
I’ve managed to visit Nottingham, Newark, Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley, South Elmsall and Sheffield in recent months, all for just £5.50 a day!

Hide AdThe weekly Mega-rider is even better value if you are a regular user of public transport, costing less than £20 per week, excellent!
However, I recently caught a number 77 Stagecoach (East Midlands) bus from Staveley to Clowne (a distance of only three miles or so) and was totally gob-smacked when the driver asked me for £3.60 for the 10 minute journey! How can this be? Surely a ‘zonal’ charge would be more convenient and fair to travelling customers. For example £1 up to two miles,£2 up to five miles, £3 for 10 miles and £4 for 20 miles etc.
At present the casual user of public transport is being ripped off both on the bus routes and on the railways too.
