Anti-social behaviour on our patch

Antisocial behaviour has been the recurring theme in the North-West of late.

Now that the snow has melted, Haggonfields Primary School have been having a few issues with their alarm being activated by youths hanging around their grounds. Most specifically it’s people getting up on the roof of the building.

While access to the top right of the playing field is allowed, the rest of the grounds are reserved for the school.

This sort of behaviour is not only disruptive and potentially damaging to the roof, it is also extremely dangerous. They not only risk their own lives but also the lives of the children and staff who use the buildings, should the integrity of the roof’s structure be compromised.

In a similar vein, a number of fires have been started on farmland and waste ground in Rhodesia. What may be seen as a bit of fun can very quickly turn deadly. A conviction for arson can result in a lengthy jail term, especially if someone is injured or killed.

A number of motorbikes and mopeds have been stolen. We have increased patrols and, remember, we have already seen one lad convicted after he stole a Capture Bike, which was fitted with recording equipment. Don’t be next.

If you know who is responsible for any of the above, call 101, extension 807 7145, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

We have a couple of new faces in the team. PC Wayne Pearson has joined as beat manager and PCSO Ruth Dixon has also started.
