Olympics 2012: Worksop readers share their experiences

CHOOSING a birthday theme was no hurdle for Worksop man Craig Tyrrell-Jones who celebrated his special day with an Olympic-themed bash.

Craig saw his 41st in in sporting style as he was joined by close family and friends at his Shepherds Avenue home.

His wife Sarah said his birthdays always have a special theme and choosing this year’s was easy as the nation became gripped by Olympic fever.

“It was absolutely smashing and we had loads of fun. We held our own mini-Olympics and the winners got certificates afterwards.”

But the sporting fun did not end there as the couple headed down south to watch the sailing races and Mo Farah and Jess Ennis run their way to victory.

Added Sarah: “It has just been an amazing few weeks – we have had a great time.”

“Thanks to everyone who came on the day and made it so memorable. Craig said he’s going to have a real job topping his birthday next year after this one.”
