Notts Police praised for digital collaboration

In a joint report by the HMIC and Her Majesty’s Crown Prosecution Service Inspectorate, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire were highlighted for good practice for our integrated work in digital case management.

In the Delivering Justice in a Digital Age, a joint inspection of digital case preparation and presentation in the criminal justice system report, the collaboration was praised for improving opportunities for joint working as well as cost savings.

Janet Carlin, head of prosecutions in the North for the East Midlands Criminal Justice Service (EMCJS), said: “The EMCJS is seen as a leader in terms of its alliance, which has yet to been replicated at this level elsewhere across the country.

“Alliance and merging across two forces has already taken place, however, to merge four and possibly five forces in this way is seen as truly innovative.

“The achievement of digital working across the region helps us to operate in a more consistent and corporate way, enhances the experience for our criminal justice partner agencies such as the Crown Prosecution Service and the courts, and allows improved support to victims and witnesses.”
