Notts: New Crimestoppers chairman appointed

Bruce Cameron has been appointed as the new chairman of the Notts Crimestoppers committee.

A retired Notts Police Superintendent, Mr Cameron brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served the force for more than 31 years.

His role will see him leading Crimestoppers in work to promote community safety alongside a range of organisations, including the police, Notts County Council, the PCCs and local community safety partnerships throughout Notts.

Mr Cameron said: “Over the next few months I am really keen to recruit more expertise to Crimestoppers in Notts. I would love to hear from people with skills such as HR, business, communications and finance who may be able to give up a small amount of time to support the work of Crimestoppers.”

Coun Glynn Gilfoyle, Chairman of the community safety committee at Notts County Council and outgoing chairman of Notts Crimestoppers committee, said: “I’m delighted Bruce has agreed to bring his wealth of experience in tackling crime in Notts to Crimestoppers - he will be a tremendous asset.”

“Around 20 people are arrested and charged everyday as a result of information provided to Crimestoppers, which demonstrates what a vital role it plays in the fight against crime in Notts.”
