Two fugitives who absconded from prison yesterday are wanted by police including a man with connections to Worksop.

Police are searching for two convicts both serving indefinate life sentences HMP Hatfield & Young Offenders Institution in Doncaster who disappeared yesterday (Monday, 28 March).

The two men, Jeremiah St.Phorose, 27, from Hull and Darrel Bryce, 31, from Nottinghamshire with connections to Worksop and Nottingham, are believed to have left together after they were reported as missing from the open prison on Thorne Road, Hatfield.

Both men were serving sentences for separate offences, with St Phorose convicted of burglary and wounding and Bryce of robbery and possession of a firearm.

South Yorkshire Police said: "A number of enquiries have already been conducted to locate the men, and officers would advise members of the public not to approach either man if seen, but to contact police immediately to enable their swift arrest and return to prison."
