The Leader of Nottinghamshire County Council, Councillor Alan Rhodes, has written to the Mayor of Paris to express his regret at the recent terrorist acts and to confirm his support to stand united with the people of France against acts of terror.
In the letter Councillor Rhodes speaks on behalf of the authority and Nottinghamshire residents and expresses deepest sympathy to Mayor Hidalgo and the people of Paris.
Councillor Rhodes said: “In these current times it is clear that all our towns and cities are at risk of such random and senseless attacks and we here in Nottinghamshire stand in solidarity with the people of Paris and France as a whole.
“We will be forwarding our book of condolence with messages of support in a month’s time so I encourage local residents to take the time to make use of this book whilst it is available at County Hall.”
Local residents are able to sign a book of condolence at County Hall in West Bridgford from today (Tuesday 17 November) to pay their respects to the victims and their families of the attacks.
