Notts: Fire service donates two engines to Nepal
Two ‘end of life’ fire engines set off to Nepal this week as Notts Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) gives its support to the country – which is currently recovering from a major earthquake.
The fire appliances will also be joined by three NFRS watch managers who will be assisting and training Nepalese firefighters – thanks to funding from a charity known as ITAP (Infrastructure Training and Systems Projects).
A team set-off on Tuesday and watch managers Jason Tait, Simon Lilley and John McEvoy will be flying to meet the appliances on Tuesday 18th August.
The fire engines have been of use for 15 years.
Jason, who is a firefighter trainer, said: “For me it is about doing my bit to help out the Nepalese with the problems they are currently facing.”
