A vehicle from Notts Fire and Rescue Service has been sent down to help the relief effort in Somerset.

Large parts of the county have been underwater since December following a series of heavy storms.

Homes have also had to be evacuated as flood defences are unable to cope with the rainfall.

A high volume pump was sent down to Somerset at the weekend from Notts, which added to the eight already in use in the area.

Three other pumps from fire and rescue services around the country were also requested.
