Notts: Council plans to celebrate Children’s Book Week

Notts County Council has announced that it will be marking the end of Children’s Book Week by organising a number of events - starting this weekend.

On Saturday 5th July at Mansfield Library, between 11am and 1.30pm. The Babbling Vagabonds Storytelling Theatre present: The Brothers Grimm in the Big Search It is an open session of fun and story making for young people aged 6 – 10. Tickets £3 per child (accompanying adults free).

The county council has also revealed that it is organising three events for invited schools next week to celebrate Children’s Book Week, which has been running for more than 80 years and represents an opportunity for children to take time out to enjoy reading.

Councillor John Knight, Culture Committee Chairman at the County Council, said: “Children’s Book Week is a celebration of reading, and provides us with a great opportunity to announce some of the latest popular children’s book trends and remind people that Nottinghamshire libraries have so much to offer.”
