It comes amid claims that changes to drug and alcohol services in Bassetlaw would cause chaos in the district.

Hundreds of people took part in a consultations run by both the council and John Mann MP, calling for services to remain the same.

The county council said it plans to introduce models for both obesity and substance misuse which will be more focussed on achieving results.

Coun Joyce Bosnjak, deputy leader of Notts County Council, and chairman of the health and wellbeing board, said: “We were delighted at how many people engaged in both consultation processes, and thank everyone for their valuable input, which has helped us to shape new models on how these services will look.”

“We have now got to a position where we can introduce models for both obesity and substance misuse which will be more focussed on achieving results, which will introduce a consistent approach county-wide, and that are based on evidence.”

“Most importantly this means that residents across Notts can expect more effective services that offer better value for taxpayer’s money.”

The tender process is due to close on 25th March.
