Notts: Council launches new £50k grant for youth projects

A new £50,000 community chest to help deliver services for young people has been been launched.

Charities, trusts, voluntary groups and social enterprises in Notts can bid for funding from the new Grant Aid Innovation Fund.

Grants of between £2,000 and £10,000 to support schemes requiring one-off investment or setting up new and innovative ways of working.

The types of project which could benefit include youth centres and mobile and street-based youth work.

In March this year, Notts County Council announced a £1.75m package of support to the voluntary and community sector for 2015/16.

The additional £50,000 was set aside to support new and innovative proposals and it was decided to allocate this year’s fund to youth projects.

Coun Joyce Bosnjak, chairman of the Grant Aid Sub-Committee at Notts County Council, said: “I am really excited that the county council has been able to launch this new funding opportunity for groups involved in providing positive activities for young people.”
