Notts: Chairman signs off his year in office with a big charity cheque for Rainbows

The outgoing chairman of Notts County Council, Coun John Allin signed off from his year in office by handing over more than £3,650 to his chosen charity, Rainbows Children’s Hospice, which cares for terminally ill children across the East Midlands.

The money was raised through a variety of events and activities over the last 12 months, including a Christmas tree recycling scheme run by waste contractor, Veolia, staff events including a Great Notts Bake Off and dress down days and a Christmas raffle.

Coun Allin has also acted as a an ambassador for the hospice.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to the people of Notts, county council employees and local businesses who have supported me in fund-raising for such a fantastic cause,” he said,

Coun Allin is succeeded by Coun Pauline Allan,
