Notts: Around 150 trees fell on roads during snow blitz

Around 150 trees fell down during the recent snowfall, Notts County Council has confirmed.

Crews and contractors have been working to remove the trees that have fallen on roads this week.

A spokesman for the council said: “Action will continue but we advise only making essential journeys due to icy conditions on many roads.”

People can report a problem with a road or path by visiting www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/travelling/roads/road-design-and-maintenance/report-road-problems/.

Residents can also view any disruption to services by visiting www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/caring/emergencies/disruption/.

Council bosses said that main routes on Christmas Day night, Boxing Day from 7pm and Saturday 27th December were all gritted.
