The officer will appear at the force headquarters Sherwood Lodge, in Arnold, at 9am on Monday, December 14 to answer to allegations of dishonesty in connection with the investigation of an offence.

A police spokesman said the officer is accused of not taking action in relation to a victim, even though they knew or believed the crime had been committed and the victim would give evidence - and not making sure these steps were taken by somebody else.

It also includes failure to accurately or completely record details of the incident and failure to complete a risk assessment form - knowing or believing this would give a ‘false impression’ of the risk posed to the victim.

The officer is also accused of giving a false statement in relation to the incident.

The hearing will be open to the public and anybody wishing to attend should register before midday on Friday, December 11.

People will be informed by 4pm on December 11 if you have been successful - otherwise you will not have a place.

To pre-register for the hearing, dial 101 with the extension number 800 2562 during office hours.

Alternatively, email the office at [email protected] leaving your name and contact telephone number.
