Nottinghamshire: Cut-price bus ticket offer to continue after 26,000 young people benefit

The popularity of a cut-price offer to encourage young people to use the bus in the East Midlands has helped ensure the deal is to be extended to the end of March.

Some 26,000 young people in Nottinghamshire and the surrounding regions have benefited from the special discounted tickets from Stagecoach, which give young people under 19 a day’s unlimited travel within the area for £2.

Launched on January 23 to run for just over a month, the special Dayrider deal to encourage more young people to try bus travel will now continue until March 31.

The offer aims to further reduce the cost of travel for young people and their families- in particular, young people who use bus services to travel to job interviews and appointments.

The ticket offers a discount of 30-100 per cent compared to standard Dayrider tickets which range from around £3 to £4.
