NORTHERN TRAINS: Afe you affected by rail strikes?

Northern rail staff are set to strike tomorrow, affecting rail journeys in Nottinghamshire.

RMT union members are to walk out for 24 hours on Monday 13 March in protest at changes to their jobs.

The company has said it will help keep customers moving during the planned industrial action, and aim to keep some services running.

The franchise-holder said: "We expect these services will be extremely busy, especially those between Leeds and Manchester. Please give yourself extra time to travel and consider whether your journey is necessary.

Services through Worksop are affected, as are Nottingham and Derbyshire trains, and connections further north.

"Please note that services will generally not start before 7am, with services winding down between 5pm and 7pm.

"These are the only Northern services that will run.

"On March 13 please check before you travel at Journey Check for up-to-date train running information.
