North Notts College students take part in road safety course

Public Services students at North Notts College have learnt about the dangers faced by their age group on the roads as part of a road traffic collision awareness programme organised by Notts Fire and Rescue Service.

More than 60 students were involved in the activities which included a presentation about the consequences of driving dangerously and under the influence of alcohol, computer simulated brake reaction and hazard perception tests.

There were also demonstrations of rescuing a badly-injured motorist from a car

NNC Public Services Lecturer Debbie Hibbard said: “The programme has really made an impact on the students – many of whom are considering a career in the Fire Service – and brought it home to us all on the hazards faced on the road as motorists and passengers.”
