North Notts Branch of the Embroiderers Guild holds AGM at October meeting

The AGM was held on the 5th October when the chairman, secretary and treasurer reported on the past very successful year.

The programme secretary spoke about the 2011-12 programme which is varied and most interesting.

The officers and committee were re-elected with two additional members. The theme for the Christmas Tree Festival is again a bauble and templates for the standard design were available. The latest date for collection of baubles and craft for the 19th November craft fair is the November meeting on the 16th at the Craft Shop, Carolgate, where the bauble template will be available.

The Olympics post cards are due at the December meeting. A busy Autumn for members.

After the business and refreshments members showed some of their recent projects, a most varied selection of techniques and items.

Visitors and new members are very welcome to the branch meetings and anyone at all interested in any style of embroidery or just seeing what is happening in the wonderful world of embroidery and textile art are cordially invited.

The next meeting is 2nd November at the Goodwin Hall, Chancery Lane, Retford, the speaker will be Lesley Alexander, her subject Pushing Boundaries.
