North Lindsey College staff notch up 2106 years' service

The total service from the 132 staff equates to 2106 years.

Fifteen staff members were recognised for more than 25 years of service, 44 staff were recognised for 15 to 24 years of service and 73 staff were recognised for ten to 14 years.

Each staff member received a badge to honour their service with a handwritten card from the principal, Anne Tyrrell.

Amanda Markham (curriculum quality and data administrator) has been employed at the college for 26 years of service. Amanda said: “This celebration shows and proves what a good place North Lindsey College is to work. You don’t realise how long staff members have been here until an event like this. It has been really rewarding to be recognised at this event and to receive a personal handwritten message from the principal.”

The human resources team held the event in recognition of long serving staff recognising the commitment and dedication from its managers, governors, teaching staff and support staff.

The idea for the event was born from suggestions made by the staff community group with the aim to celebrate and recognise the commitment and dedication staff had given to the college over such a period of time.

Scott Wilson (head of human resources) and also a long serving team member started work at the College as an apprentice and has since progressed to management level. Scott said: “It was a fantastic event and a real pleasure to be involved with. It brought colleagues from all areas of the college together and was great to hear the numerous stories, memories and experiences being shared throughout the event.”

Linda Pendleton (55) has worked at the college for 16 years and said: commented, “It has been wonderful to feel appreciated and acknowledged for all of our hard work over the many years. The college is such a nice place to work and a great environment for young people to achieve.”
