BASSETLAW Council expects to sign the cinema contract for the new Potter Street multiplex within the next month, it was announced this week.
The authority says many detailed planning conditions have been resolved, but Savoy Cinemas are unable to start until all outstanding matters have been agreed.
A formal signing is expected imminently, with contractors moving on site in March or April.
The project was given unanimous approval on 8th December last year.
Portfolio holder for finance and property Terry Yates said: “The council has made a commitment to the people of Worksop to bring the cinema to town.”
“Everyone is keen to get on with the scheme, and I am looking forward to signing the deal with Savoy Cinemas in the next month.”
