NEWSPAPERS have been reduced at libraries across the district in a bid to cut costs.

Worksop Library will no longer receive copies of the Retford Times, Notts County Council has confirmed.

Principal librarian Fiona Littlewood said reductions have been made in consultation with libraries who have chosen to keep the most widely-read titles.

“Prior to 1st April Worksop did received the Retford Times and Retford did receive the Worksop Guardian - however these were not particularly well used and have therefore been cancelled,” she said.

“Retford Library will continue to receive the Retford Times and Worksop Library will continue to receive the Worksop Guardian and some national papers.”
