BASSETLAW Stroke Information Service: Is a new service for residents, funded by NHS Bassetlaw and Notts County Council and delivered by Bassetlaw Action Centre. The service provides advice, information and support to stroke survivors, and their families and carers for as long as it is needed. A case worker is available to assist you to access services that you may require to support your return to day-to-day life. Advice and support is available for practical things like: filling in forms, applying for benefits, assistance with looking at housing needs and with adaptations that are required, other practical assistance, support to return back to work, signposting to other relevant services/agencies, put people in contact with other stroke survivors or just a listening ear! BALMORAL Tenants and Residents Association, Balmoral Community Centre, Sandringham Crescent: Meet for talks, demonstrations, lunches, tea, coffee and bingo. Mondays 1-3pm.

BASSETLAW Hospital League of Friends: Summer Fayre, Saturday 16th June at The Crossing, Newcastle Street, Worksop, 2-4.30pm. Many stalls including bric-a-brac, cakes, tombola, cards, home-made jams etc. and of course a raffle. Fresh cream teas with home-made scones will be available. Admission £1 payable on the door. MS Society, Worksop and District, St Anne’s Hall: Meet on the second and fourth Mondays of each month, 7pm. On the fourth Monday we have guest speakers. WORKSOP Sea Cadets and Royal Marine Cadets: Needs You! It is a registered charity organisation staffed by volunteers. The Worksop unit consists of up to 40 cadets (male and female) between the ages of 10 and 18. Young people from all backgrounds come to learn and have fun. They also develop skills in many areas including; social, communication, team work, leadership and independence. There are many qualifications to be gained such as; sailing, rowing, power boating, D of E and many more: as well as opportunities to go Off Shore Sailing, go aboard HMS Bristol and take part in many competitions around the country. KILTON Pet and Raptor Rescue, Plantation Hill: Open throughout the year for anyone interested in homing unwanted animals or for fostering. The rescue centre is expanding to Lambley in Nottingham and has opened a Farm Park and Falconry Centre, which will be open to the public from 10am-5pm, 7 days a week. Volunteers are always needed.
