GALA: Clowne Gala will take place on Saturday 17th September, between 11am and 3pm at Clowne Campus, High Street, Clowne. WHITWELL Local History Group: On 6th September Mrs Jo Wheldon introduced a film recently presented to the host villages of North East Derbyshire by the “Lowestoft Evacuees Association” commemorating the “Seventieth Anniversary of the Evacuation.” Several of the “Lowestoft Evacuees” who had settled in Whitwell after the war, were welcomed. Each year a party has travelled from Lowestoft and their host villages have taken turns in welcoming them back to their childhood haunts. On 20th September members are invited to “Bring Your Own Antiques.”
