The company has started work on the internal fit out at the new 2,195 sq. ft. unit which represents a £150,000 investment at the Gainsborough shopping centre.

The store is due to open on June 24, and will be found alongside New Look and Next at Marshall’s Yard in the former Brantano unit, which has been subdivided into two new stores.

Details of the other new retailer joining the line-up will be announced in the next few weeks.

As the UKs largest shoe retailer, Clarks has been providing footwear for all the family since 1825.

Matthew Eliot of Clarks said: “We are delighted to be announcing the opening of our new Clarks store at Marshall’s Yard, we have a branch open on the sister centre to Marshall’s Yard, Sanderson Arcade in Morpeth and trade extremely well there.

“We are looking forward to meeting our new customers and providing them and their families with stylish, functional shoes that perfectly complement contemporary living.”

The new store will provide up to 15 jobs.

Centre Manager, Alison Hall, said: “We’re having an exciting year so far at Marshall’s Yard and we’re only half way through it.

“The new Costa Coffee and home ware section in Next has proved a huge success and brought more people to the centre.

“We know that our shopper’s want choice and it’s great that this change has created not one but two new units meaning we’ll be bringing Clarks as well as another new store to the Yard.”
