The monthly market is rebranding to include local crafters to its selection, and renaming itself the Gainsborough Farmers’ and Craft Market.

The new market will continue to be held on the second Saturday of the month and will replace the additional Country Living Market.

With the two markets joining together to create a bigger monthly market shoppers will have more choice and a greater range of local traders.

To mark the launch of this new look market the first Gainsborough Farmers’ and Craft market will host entertainment throughout the day with local group Rattlejag, Morris Dancers performing and live music provided by buskers.

Shoppers can also look out for the scarecrow stiltwalker who will be handing out free hessian shopping bags and balloons to promote the new-look market.

Centre Manager, Alison Hall, said: “It’s really important to us that we support local producers in our lovely region and continue to offer something a little different here at Marshall’s Yard.

“We’re looking forward to the first market of the spring with a great quality selection of food producers as well as some fantastic local craftsmen and women selling woodwork, gifts and jewellery.”

“Many Farmers’ markets across the area have been seen to do this and the two different offers seem to complement each other well.

“The markets need a refresh from time to time to remind local residents that they are here and we hope with their new position opposite Britannia House they will continue to be well supported.”
