New head set to take the reins

RANBY House have announced the appointment of a new head, as well as a new name for the next academic year.

Christian Pritchard will take over the reigns from current head David Sibson, who is standing down after 14 years with the school.

Mr Pritchard will join Ranby House School from The British School of Amsterdam where he is head of the lower junior/infant school.

“I am delighted to be joining the Ranby and Worksop leadership team at this exciting time in the school’s history,” he said.

“It is both a pleasure and a privilege to be the next headmaster of Worksop College Preparatory School at Ranby House.”

“As we build on the strong, child-centred, spiritual ethos that is central to the school’s philosophy, I am looking forward to working with the children, staff, parents and wider community to continue the school’s success as an outstanding place of learning and opportunity for all.” “The school has a vibrant, dynamic, exciting future ahead and my family and I are looking forward to being part of it.”

Mr Pritchard, a keen musician, was educated at Queen Elizabeth High School, Northumberland and then the University College of Ripon and York St John, where he gained a BA (Honours).

He then went on to Oxford Brookes University to gain a Masters in Education with a leadership focus.

Mr Pritchard is married to Zoe and they have two daughters, aged 4 and 7, both of whom will become pupils at the school.

From September 2012, Ranby House School’s name will change to Worksop College Preparatory School at Ranby House.
