Mum dives for charity

A GAINSBOROUGH mum has raised more than £2,000 for the hospital ward which cared for her premature baby boy.

Lindsey Denman certainly showed her ability to bounce back. Around 250 people gathered to watch her plunge from a bungee rope outside the Jack and Jill pub on Heapham Road.

Some of them joined her in the jump, and others donated their spare cash to the cause - the special care baby unit at Lincoln County Hospital.

Lindsey's son Darcy was born prematurely in February 2008 and was looked after on the unit.

Four years on, Darcy is a happy and healthy little boy, and Lindsey wants to say 'thank you'.

"The bungee was incredible. So many people turned out to watch and support me," said Lindsey.

"We raised £1,100 - and there’s more sponsorship money to come.”

"Since then we've done a pub crawl which raised £300, and a family fun day which brought in another £800."

"I'm so proud of what I've achieved. But I couldn't have done it without the support of the community. It's really down to them.”
