Local MPs including Sarah Champion, John Healey and Kevin Barron were given the opportunity to tour some of the College’s outstanding new facilities at its town centre campus. They were greeted by students who showed them around the science labs, the Inspire Hair, Nail and Beauty salons and the simulated ‘Hospital Ward’.

The visitors were also shown around the new Gateway area, the College’s specialist area for students needing additional learning support.

Former student Mr Barron said: “I was an apprentice here doing Electrical Engineering in the 1960s. It was fun. The equipment here now is very sophisticated.”
