Motorcyclist dies in Maltby crash

A motorcyclist has died following a crash in Maltby yesterday (Saturday).

A 53-year-old local man suffered multiple injuries and died following the crash around 5.15pm.

The man was riding a red Aprilia motorbike which was travelling on the A631 from Tickhill towards Maltby when the crash happened.

The bike is understood to have overtaken a blue Peugeot 206 before colliding with the front near side of a blue Citreon Xsara travelling in the opposite direction towards Tickhill.

The collision, which happened around 200yards the Tickhill side of the junction with Scotch Spring Lane, caused the rider to leave his bike, landing on the roof of a blue BMW Mini travelling towards Maltby.

No-one else was injured in the collision.

Officers want to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or the manner of driving of any of the vehicles involved.
