Motorcyclist dies after collision with car in Retford

A motorcyclist has died following a crash with a car in Retford earlier today (Sunday, July 19).

Police were called to the scene on Whitehouses Road at 1.35 pm following a collision between a motorbike and a car.

The motorcyclist died at the scene and has not yet been identified.

The road has been closed and is expected to remain shut for hours.

Investigator Sarah Butler said: “We are working hard to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision and we are appealing to anyone who was travelling along Whitehouses Road and Goosemoor Lane around the time of the crash to contact us with any information that they think could help our investigation.

“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have captured either of the vehicles involved on dashcam footage.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 420 of 19 July 2020.
