More than one third of Nottinghamshire workers want free food at work

We've all heard the phrase '˜a happy worker is a productive worker'. But what actually is it that makes employees in Nottinghamshire happy at work?

Conference Genie surveyed 2000 people in full time employment and talked to employers to find out exactly what it is that makes their workplaces great, and how they can be made even better.

From seemingly simple perks, such as free coffee, to larger gestures, like a paid birthday day off, boost staff morale.

Here are the top three perks workers in Nottinghamshire want:

Free food (36%)

Flexitime (27%)

Free tea/coffee (26%)

For perks relating to time off, the most popular was early finish Fridays (49% wanted this), followed by a paid birthday day off (44%). Only 12% have the option for remote working.

But the financial perks win out and 58% of workers in Nottinghamshire would give up perks for a bigger wage:

A third say health insurance would make them happiest, but only 14% receive any.

38% say they would consider the perks when looking for a new job.

But only 19% say they always make the most of what they’re entitled to.
