Models pose for pre-school

A FASHION show has raised £650 to help keep Harthill Pre-School up and running.

At the end of July the pre-school was faced with having to raise £3,000 to remain open for the following year.

“After the fashion show we are now about three quarters of the way there,” said committee member Cheryl Swallow. wAnd we hope that our Christmas fair in December will raise the rest so we are fine for another year.”

Cheryl said the pre-school was going through a difficult time and had been struggling financially due to increasing running costs.

Children and their mums strutted their stuff on the catwalk at the show at Harthill village hall on Saturday afternoon.

After the show people had the chance to buy the items that they had seen.

And for those that wanted a more sugary treat, there was a cake sale as well as a raffle.

“It was lovely as the models were people who live in the village, the kids that use the pre-school, their brothers and sisters and mums,” added Cheryl.

“We had a really good turnout. It was a great afternoon and everyone enjoyed themselves.”

The pre-school currently has both morning and afternoon places available. Call nursery manager Nicola Stanley on 01909 774708 for more details.
