Misterton man arrested after pistol attack

A LUCKY 40-year-old man escaped serious injury after he was shot in the face with an air pistol in Misterton.

The incident happened at about 1.15pm today (Wednesday 11th April) in the grounds of the Misterton Methodist Church, in High Street.

The victim is currently in a conscious and stable condition at Rotherham Hospital, where he is due to have the pellet surgically removed from the edge of his eye socket.

No one else was injured.

A 48-year-old local man has been arrested in connection with the incident, which is believed to have been an isolated attack, and is currently in custody.
