Meet the firefighters at Worksop Library

The Library is hosting a ‘Meet the Firefighters’ day at Memorial Avenue, from 1.30pm on Tuesday 14th August.

It is the second year the event has been held with last year’s event attracting huge crowds.

A spokesman said: “This year, there will again be an action-packed programme of activities including the chance for visitors to try out guidance ropes to find their way out of a darkened room, the chance to sit on a real fire engine and try on the fire fighters’ uniform, and one of the main attractions will be a chip pan fire demonstration which will take place on the lawn outside at 3.30pm.”

Library Service Advisor Julie Benjarfield said: “Last year was the first time we had hosted an event of this sort and it was a great success. It helps attract new audiences to the library and helps the fire service to spread vital fire safety messages.”
