Meat thief given a fine

A THIEF who admitted stealing meat from a supermarket has been ordered to pay compensation.

Mark Andrew Mills, of Queen Street in Worksop, pleaded guilty to taking £45 worth of meat from the Sainsbury’s at the Prospect Precinct on 8th May.

Appearing before Worksop Magistrates Court on Thursday 28th June, Mills apologised for the offence before being given a conditional discharge for six months.

He also stood accused of a number of bail act offences which Magistrates then withdrew.

Mills was also ordered to pay Sainsbury’s £45 compensation to cover the cost of the meat which had to be removed from sale.
