Staff and children at Mattersey Primary have been working on their eco garden for several months.
It provides a perfect outdoor learning space and also allows children to grow their own fruit and vegetables.

The school thought it would provide an ideal opportunity to add more colour to the garden.
A painter and decorator parents kindly sanded and primed the wall ready for painting and art pupils from the Elizabethan Academy volunteered to paint a mural.
The paint was donated from the recycling centre in Newark as part of the community repaint scheme.

Hide AdJane Grayso, office manager at Mattersey Primary, said the Elizabethan Academy pupils spent several days at the school completing the mural.
“Ten students came on the first day, on the Tuesday, and the painting was finished by the end of Thursday.”
“It’s fantastic and really brightens up the wall area.”
“The children love it.”
“We had always wanted to complete the garden with a bright mural on that wall. “
“We hope that the bright colours will help attract more wildlife and insects to the garden.”
