The ground floor accommodation includes a flat for a house tutor as well the house captain’s study which allows privacy as well as contact with the junior years in addition to welcoming visitors coming into the House.

Six four-bedded rooms will house the Year Nine and Year 10 boys and the ground floor is also the location of the main common room.

A college spokesman said: “In the summer months, folding glass doors can be opened out onto a covered patio which overlooks a grassed area, perfect for barbecues or just enjoying the summer sun.

“The large upper floor windows showcase the fabulous views across the sports pitches and to Clumber Park beyond.

“The majority of the rooms are two-bedded and there is also a sixth form common room which contains stunning features, highlighting the high ceilings and unusual design shape of the room. Once again, all the rooms enjoy views of Clumber Park.

“On the top floor are the studies for the upper sixth form.

“Away from the noise from the rest of the House, these single rooms give the senior pupils a dedicated and individual area for study.

“There is also a large meeting room and social area on this floor for school events or other in-house functions.”

“Throughout the building there is an exposed brick wall feature on each floor which stylishly complements the modern-style décor and flooring throughout.

“There is low energy LED lighting throughout the building and heating and hot water is powered by ground source heating, an innovative, ecological and economical method of keeping down the running costs of this fantastic new building.”

Staff are already in the process of moving in, and the week of half-term will see the final furniture delivered and installed which means that, for the boys of Mason House, everything will be very different from then on.
