Detention Officer Adrian Evans, 41, was found guilty of common assault on Tuesday (September 22) at Nottingham Crown Court.

A two-day trial heard that Evans had used an unnecessary amount of force when assisting with the restraint of an uncooperative prisoner at an incident on June 30 2014.

He will be sentenced on October 16.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: “The force will now proceed with the next stage of the internal discipline proceedings.”
