Man’s body found at Chesterfield College

A man’s body has been found in the grounds of Chesterfield College.

Police were called to the Infirmary Road site at about 6pm yesterday after receiving reports of a “sudden death”.

A member of college staff found the body.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

A formal identification is yet to take place but the man is believed to be 45 and from Staveley.

Stuart Cutforth, principal at Chesterfield College, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased at this traumatic time.”
