“Manchester United” man in court over drug charges

Sean Keane, of Millrise Road, Mansfield, is accused of producing more than 20 cannabis plants, intending to supply the drug and abstracting electricity illegally to the value of £864.

Appearing briefly at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court, he was asked if he had any middle names, to 
which he replied: “Manchester United”.

No further details of the case were revealed and he did not enter pleas, but was told the case was not suitable to be heard at magistrates and must go to crown court.

He was bailed to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on January 20.
