Man warned he faces prison

Anthony Osbourne, 50, was given the order at Derby Crown Court last year when he was jailed for affray.

That offence involved him brandishing two kitchen knives at the home he used to share with Tracey Anne Blake, while he was in drink.

Magistrates at Chesterfield heard that boozy Osbourne went to Ms Blake’s Hazelby Road address at 7.45pm on 29th October, and told her he loved her.

She asked him to go away and police were called.

“He said he had been contacting her on a regular basis and she had been contacting him to and they had been to church together. He said he couldn’t read and write and he didn’t understand the restraining order,” said Sarah Haslam, prosecuting.

She added: “The complainant says she has told him the relationship is over and to leave her alone.”

Osbourne, unemployed, of Deer Park Close, Stannington, admitted breaching both the restraining order and a six-month conditional discharge imposed in May.

He was given a one-year probation supervision order, including a nine-month alcohol treatment programme, and a 7pm-7am curfew for three months. He must also pay a £60 surcharge to a victims-of-crime fund, with £85 costs. They told him he could end up back in prison if he breached the restraining order.
